It is a happy coincidence that we started and ended the year with two major events in Paris: the launch of our W/S 2017 collection, Crossroads, in January and our collaboration with Palais Galliera on their current Fortuny exhibition reintroducing our famous Fortuny pleats. But we didn’t stop there. From St. Petersburg to Venice, revisit all our milestones this year.
Leviathan is a reflection on where we could be if a deeper understanding of trauma and climate erosion is not found, looking at what is not only a humanitarian crisis, but a wider crisis within our biosphere. In this global project, artist Shezad Dawood creates a series of paintings using Fortuny printed cottons and a neon sculpture inspired by Fortuny’s Camo pattern.
In June, we took 15 designers on a five day trip to explore the best of art, architecture and culture in Venice – the city that we call home. This is the first in the series of FortunyxFuigo excursions. Stay tuned for the next trip!

Palais Galliera City of Paris Fashion Museum pays tribute to Mariano Fortuny’s life and work with its latest exhibition, Fortuny, Un Espanol à Venise. Opened to the public during Paris Fashion Week, the exhibition will go on until January, 2018, and features a re-imagined Delphos by the Fortuny design lab.
As we quickly approach the beginning of a new year, I would like to express sincere gratitude for your continued support and for taking the time to read these words, each one spoken from the heart, offering a window into our soul. The soul of Fortuny runs deep and makes its way into everything that we do. We are so proud of what we have done this past year and could not be more excited about what is yet to come.
Wishing you all a merry, happy, healthy, joyous, peaceful, hopeful everything. Remember, magic does exist…but only if you let it. May you never lose that childlike sense of wonder.
