TZIN in mare & vintage rose

sku: 5901 | Download Tearsheet

Designed in 1949, just months before Mariano Fortuny’s passing, TZIN’s pattern remains a bit of a mystery. However, the name and spiral motif suggest the Mesoamerican city of Tzintzuntzan, first excavated in the 1930s and 40s. The site’s five rounded yácata pyramids were arranged in a keyhole-like shape and clad in stone slabs decorated with spirals, circles, and other petroglyphs, similar to the motifs in TZIN.
