Drawing on the symbolism of the Tao and its origins, Fortuny’s W/S2019 The Gatekeeper features three archival patterns, each referencing a unique aspect of the Tao philosophy.

The collection is inspired by the centuries old legend of the alchemical substance that was believed could transform common metals into precious ones. Painters do it with canvas, poets do it with words, we do it with cloth.
In addition to 13 printed cottons in 8 colors inspired by jewel tones, the collection also features the introduction of printed velvets in 5 colors.
