Moresco
Bittersweet & warm white
5501
Introduced in the early 1900s, MORESCO was one of the first patterns Mariano Fortuny printed, and it continues to be one of our most popular designs. This dense motif of both geometric and organic shapes is influenced by Moorish compositions like those Mariano would have known from his early childhood in Granada, Spain, home to the 14th-century Moorish palace, the Alhambra. MORESCO remains a timeless interpretation of the cultural output of Medieval Iberia and North Africa, best exemplified in the mosaic tilework and arabesque ornament of the Alhambra
