55✕79 in
$1350.00

Like your favorite piece of outerwear, Mantle makes you crave cold weather. Hand-sewn with a printed velvet border, designers Mickey Riad and Anna Robbins re-envision the velvet coats produced by Mariano Fortuny and his wife Henriette Negrin with this cashmere throw.

Crafted in pure cashmere or a soft cashmere-wool blend, Fortuny Throw Mantle is more than a throw blanket; it is a decorative piece of Venetian artistry. Ideal as a luxury home accent or as a warming companion, each Mantle showcases Fortuny’s heritage in textile innovation.

Care & Maintenance
To maintain the finish of your throw, Fortuny recommends using a clothes brush to gently brush only in the direction of the fiber. As all products are made with natural fibers, over time, pilling may occur. The best treatment for this is to use a pilling comb to gently remove any fiber pills. All products are recommended as dry clean only due to the delicate nature of the fibers.

From Venice, with love

Established in 1921, Fortuny is now the last operating factory in Venice. Built with impossible ingenuity like the city itself, our artisans create textiles that reflect the city's engineering brilliance and timeless beauty.

The fabric of life

Our textiles elevate noble cotton into something as luminous as silk, as rich as velvet— yet made to last. Through secret techniques passed down for generations, our artisans layer color and light to create depth and emotion no machine can replicate.

Made by hand

Behind every Fortuny textile lives a human story. Expert artisans in our Giudecca atelier practice methods known only to them—printing each pattern by hand through rituals perfected over a century. Each piece bears the irreplicable beauty of its maker's touch.

History

Born in 1871, Mariano Fortuny found sanctuary in Venice—a city of impossible light. With his wife Henriette, he transformed his palazzo into an atelier of wonder, inventing revolutionary textile techniques and patenting printing methods that transformed ancient patterns into modern masterpieces.

Artisanal secrets

Behind the locked gates of our Venice factory on the Giudecca, a handful of chosen artisans practice centuries-old techniques, shrouded in mystery and protected by our founder's will. Using original machinery and processes established over a century ago, they conjure luminous textiles leavened with color and ancient wisdom.

Invented in Venice. Made in Venice

Designed with the italian touch, from start to finish. Built on the grounds of an ancient convent, the inner workings of the factory remain secret 100 years later. Our founder's will holds that the techniques used to create the iconic fabrics were never to be revealed publicly.
