Inviting the muse
In the deep stretch of winter, with autumn now a distant shoreline, we turn inward to tune our hearts to our internal rhythm. Nothing rushes. Nothing forces its bloom. Beneath the surface, life gathers itself quietly. This is not a season of display, but one of preparation.
Creativity follows a similar cycle and deserves to be treated as a living thing of its own. It asks for patience and space, for nourishment and stillness. Sometimes, it requires guidance; at other times, simply to be left alone. Creating the proper conditions is not preparation for the work – it is the work.
Now that our last collection, POLPO, has been released into the world, our creative lab turns its focus on new explorations. Currently, we are in our tending phase. The soil has been turned, and the seeds carefully placed. Our task at the moment is not to demand growth, but to create the conditions that allow it.
The muse cannot be forced to enter the space or sit beside us. But we can tend to the room. We can light it, open its windows, fill it with a warm, creative energy pleasing enough that when she does visit, she is encouraged to accept our invitation to play.
The candle is lit. The room is ready.
