The French artist Francoise BOUCHER was a prolific and highly-celebrated painter of the mature Rococo style who painted idealized pastoral scenes and imbued classical themes and decorative allegories with both sentimental and erotic love. True to the Rococo style, BOUCHER is excessively ornamental, filled with abundant theatrics, adorned with floral bouquets and festoons, and sumptuous curves, lush folds, and cascading luxuriousness. BOUCHER sings in exaltation, glorifying the artist’s style and the decadent beauty that marked Rococo.
