Like Mariano Fortuny, the Spanish Baroque painter Bartolome Esteban MURILLO began his life in Spain’s culturally rich region of Andalusia. Known for his rich colors and soft forms, his works were heavily influenced by Venetian and Flemish masters, as well as his fellow countryman Diego Velazquez. MURILLO is a simple, iconic leaf motif in a geometric grid formation.
