Ventose
Caligine & silver
7055
From the Italian ventosa, meaning “suction cup,” referring to the octopus’s distinctive gripping structures, Ventose translates the sinuous motion of octopus arms as refracted through Venetian rui glass. Undulating contours soften and blur, refracted lines evoking the sensation of movement through layers of shifting water and light. Architectural clarity dissolves into organic flow, creating a pattern that reflects both the built landscape of Venice and the graceful "formlessness” of the polpo.

Invented in Venice. Made in Venice
Designed with the italian touch, from start to finish. Built on the grounds of an ancient convent, the inner workings of the factory remain secret 100 years later. Our founder's will holds that the techniques used to create the iconic fabrics were never to be revealed publicly.
FORTUNY’S METHODS ARE PASSED DOWN AMONG GENERATIONS OF ARTISTS WHO CONTINUE CREATING NEW WORK WITH THE TECHNIQUES AND MACHINES FROM OUR FOUNDING.
