Laotze
Deep jade & gold
5890
LAOTZE takes its name from the ancient Chinese philosopher credited with authoring the Tao Te Ching — a text organized around balance and the natural order of the universe. The pattern Mariano Fortuny designed in 1933 translates that philosophy into a bold, curling cloud-scroll that unfolds across the surface with the force of quiet conviction. Its large forms, undulating, layered, and continuous, carry the character of the philosopher's thought: deep without being obscure, ancient without being static. The medium repeat allows for versatile applications, including statement walls, expansive drapery, and thoughtful upholstery where the scroll's momentum can be appreciated. Available in jewel-toned colorways — oxblood, deep jade, plum fog — that amplify the pattern's ceremonial weight.
