When Elsie McNeill Lee visited Paris’ Carnavalet Museum, she immediately fell in love with the lush fabrics covering the walls. Little did she know that her life from that moment on would forever be dedicated to celebrating those fabrics around the globe. The 17th-century inspired French design—with magnificent and intricate garden urns abundant with flowers—is framed by lavish cornucopia and elaborate scrolling swag. CARNAVALET was Mariano Fortuny’s first decorative design commission.
