On June 13th, 2017, The Ephemeral Museum of Fashion (Il Museo Effimero dela Moda) inaugurates their latest exhibition to the public in the Galleria del Costume of Palazzo Pitti, Florence. Produced by the Fondazione Pitti Immagine Discovery in collaboration with two distinguished fashion institutions in Europe, the Gallerie degli Uffizi and the Palais Galliera, the exhibition sets out to create a new experience by placing fashion pieces in the context of an artistically chaotic stage set with dramatic light and patterns. The show features rare archival pieces and selected new collections from major dressmakers and fashion ateliers – including Mariano Fortuny, House of Worth, Elsa Schiaparelli, Christian Lacroix, Gucci, Margiela and Valentino, among others. The chief curator is Olivier Saillard, director of Palais Galliera, City of Paris Museum of Fashion, who is also the wizard behind renowned exhibitions such as “Madame Gres” and “Balenciaga L’Oeuvre au Noir.” On view are three Delphos gowns by Mariano Fortuny, pictured here by Andrea Paoletti.
